Buttery Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups of flour
- 0.5 teaspoons of salt
- 0.5 teaspoons of sugar
- 0.25 teaspoons of baking powder
- 0.5 sticks of unsalted butter, cold
- 4 tablespoons of vegetable shortening
- 0.5 teaspoons of white vinegar
- 6 tablespoons of water, cold
Directions
- Sift together the dry ingredients.
- Cut the butter into small cubes.
- Cut the butter and the vegetable shotening into the dough, working quickly so the butter stays cold.
- Add the vinegar and water.
- Mix until the dough starts to stick together, then form a slightly-flattened disc.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes or until ready to bake
