Mandel Bread
Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter, at room temperature
- 0.750 cups of sugar
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1.25 teaspoons of almond extract
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of flour
- 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder
- 0.5 cups of mini chocolate chips
- 0.25 cups of chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and eggs.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and almond extract.
- Sift flour and baking powder into separate bowl.
- Mix sifted dry ingredients into wet, one scoop at a time.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans.
- Divide the dough into three equal parts.
- Form into 0.5-inch tall rectangles on baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Cut each rectangle into 1-inch slices at a slight angle
- Place each slice on it's side onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 more minutes.
